Vision: To be the foremost phage research laboratory in Nigeria, providing phage-based solutions to problems of antimicrobial resistance taking one-health into perspective Mission Statement: The major goal of Phagefocus is to create a favourable research environment for phage biology and phage therapeutic formulation research. It aims to provide an excellent learning environment in which academics, staff, and students may find, critically assess, conserve, and convey Phage based information that can spark Africa's antimicrobial drug resistance revolution. Our goal is to isolate, sequence and bank a large database of Phages against WHO-priority organisms and make this available to the scientific community. The success of phage therapy is in having various groups that have large deposits of phages that can meet the local and global needs of patients and physicians.
