Poetry for Personal Power's founder Corinna West is an Olympic Judo athlete. She has lived experience of recovery from “major depressive disorder,” and 11 other psychiatric labels. She has a Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. She was a catalyst for Kansas City's lead role in the national mental health dialogue project. She was a Cohort VIII fellow of the Kansas Health foundation. She was recipient of the 2013 Judi Chamberlin award from the National Coalition on Mental Health Recovery.
