The problem we solve: As of Nov 2020, COVID-19 has infected over 62,358,546 people and killed 1,455,319 (Nov 28 2020, World Meters Info - Coronavirus). The ongoing pandemic has become a major threat to public health and social stability. Effective therapies to treat or prevent COVID-19 are urgently needed. A rushed vaccine in development may have dramatic adverse effects if not taken through thorough testing. Natural compounds, currently in seaweeds and mushrooms, have already been proven for their potent inhibitory properties on virus infection and attachment with no adverse effects. Recently, promising studies for the COVID-19 virus on one seaweed species and one mushroom have been conducted, separately, but not combined together in a single comprehensive supplement.
About our solution: As stated earlier, studies performed using seaweed species and mushroom species have shown dramatic potential for inhibition of the COVID-19 virus, as well as similar enveloped viruses (e.g. Herpes Simplex I, Influenza, HIV). The compounds that appear to be of most significance are sulfated polysaccharides (from seaweed species, specifically Laminaria japonica (LJ) and cordycepin (C), from mushroom species, specifically Cordyceps spp)). With this basic research already performed, separately, focusing research on COVID-19 virus may make for a more effective and efficient solution. The goal of this project is to take an already developed comprehensive dietary supplement, with a proprietary blend of seaweed and mushroom species (with LJ and C and related seaweed and mushroom spp showing evidence of antiviral properties) through a approved National Institute of Health (NIH) Virus Neutralization Assay to prove antiviral inhibition as a single comprehensive supplement.
Progress to date:Currently seeking funding. We have vetted out Contract Research Organizations for Virus Neutralization Assay and looking to perform assay once funding is establishied.

Clinical Information
Currently, there is significant preclinical research performed on our product extracts but minimal on clinical efficacy (in humans). This is a large reason we are looking for funding to propel this research into the clinical realm. The product(s) are already on the market and have dramatic anecdotal stories but we are looking to further drive the research and its credibility. These products and extracts have significant anticancer and antiviral research at the preclinical level, but we are looking to propel further, specifically around COVID-19, to illustrate more credibility.
Regulatory Status
All product extracts have been considered safe for general consumption by the FDA. We have a standard FDA label, stated below, but the FDA has recognized our product as generally safe for the public.

How we will use the funds raised
Currently, we have basic budget breakdown below but willing to work with funders if they have a better strategy for this project.
1. ($16,000) Raw Materials for Study (e.g. seaweed, mushrooms, gelcaps)
Studies performed required new materials sourced to maintain minimal bias, Certificate of Analysis (CoA), and clear chain of custody to allow for other experimenters to 1) repeat the study and 2) further studies to be conducted using similar materials for consistency in results.
2. ($35,000) Contract Research Organization (CRO) Fee (to perform antiviral study, proof of concept, in vitro)
This is the quoted cost of performing an in vitro ("in the petri dish") study from three labs capable of performing this work (Natural Immune Systems Labs ($15000), Charles Rivers Labs ($35,000), and Covance Labs ($55,000). We are looking to go for the mid point lab of $35,000.
3. ($4000) Report Writing and Publishing Fees (CRO service, submission to journal fees, estimate)
Professional writing of journal applications fees
4. ($8280) Travel and Related Expenses for Conference Presentations on Topic
Thank You
Hello, we are a unqiue company created by serial entrepreneurs. We noticed very large gaps in current healthcare quality outcomes in the U.S. and created Infinitum Health, LLC, to help mitigate these gaps. We have used unique bioengineering methods to create effective and efficient products that facilitate needs in major disease and health problems. Our methodology is largely rooted in problem solving frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, Job to be Done, Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ), and Strategic Innovation Framework (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Using these methods, we seemed to have found mathematical models, historically used in engineering firms such as Apple and recently with Amazon.com that drive dramatic exponential value in their products and services, and have therefore applied them to the healthcare realm via products targeted at specific disease states. These appear to have very dramatic disruption to an industry that historically doesn't accept / allow change to occur. The initial results, preclinically, are dramatic, while the anecdotal stories that have come to fruition, appear to validate the mathmatical models but we would need formal clinical trials to formally publish and show our results. Personally, we feel that we have some of the most powerful products that can be used for the population immediately and appear to have anticancer, antiviral (most recently with COVID-19), and unique immunostimulating properties.
