Umar Siddiqui is a Clinical Informatics and Analytics professional and Health IT entrepreneur with 10+ years of professional healthcare experience. Recently, he served a role with transforming Scott & White Healthcare’s 13 hospitals and 100-plus clinics. Also, he is the co-founder of vPhysicians, a mobile healthcare solution. His educational background includes a BSci in Neuro-science from University of Pittsburgh and an MD from American University School of Medicine with clinical appointment and internship with The Barts London and Royal College of Surgeons in the UK. Umar has earned professional certifications in Health IT, Agile Development, Surgical Information Systems, and life-science sales and marketing, along with continuing formal coursework in health informatics, analytics, and business. He maintains an active involvement with various professional organizations and ongoing participation with advisory boards, civic organizations, entrepreneurial communities, and charitable volunteership as well as mentoring other Health IT professionals. Umar's technology interests evolved into Phalanx Linq, a healthcare data analytics application that earned him 2nd place in the 2013 Windows Azure and Dun & Bradstreet Developer Competition. This was followed by Centurion Linq, a healthcare delivery mobile platform which was a global finalist for health/tablet segment in the 2013 Intel AppInovation Contest. He is passionate towards the improvement of population health through technology by developing and implementing informatics tools to fully utilize and model electronic health data. Biography: Co-founder of @Point of Care in 2012, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the information technology field. As CTO he provides strategic oversight of the company’s technology and development systems, including web applications, information technology management and support, network integrity, and business processes implementations.
Involved in technology since the late 1980s, when he administered his own computer bulletin board system. He continued using technology to facilitate his scientific career, obtaining a bachelor of engineering physics degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, as well as attaining graduate degrees in theoretical chemistry and a PhD in medicinal chemistry while working with computational chemistry research groups internationally using predictive analytics and big-data solutions for life sciences and technology. David brings his talent and experience to @Point of Care to continue developing strategies and architecture that deliver high‐quality scientific and medical content into the hands of the clinicians who need the knowledge the most. He keeps abreast of developments in the scientific world by publishing research papers in internationally peer‐reviewed journals.
