Obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases are on the rise. We’ve evolved from hunter-gatherers to sedentary employees. For many of us, our weekly exercise consists of our walk to and from the office!
In fact, less than 20% of Americans exercise more than 2 hours a week. There are 168 hours in the week.
Desk Gym: Creating a Healthier & More Energetic Workforce
In today’s work environment, it is very common for employees to spend 8+ hours each day sitting behind a desk.
Desk Gym allows employees to spend about 2 minutes 2-3 times per day stretching, flexing muscles and increasing blood flow at work!
This small effort can go a long ways towards improving one’s health.
Desk Gym workouts give employees an extra natural boost of energy and keep employees more conscious of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, starting with their diet at work. Desk Gym also keeps employees productive, as they provide a healthy alternative to a 15 minute smoking or snacking break.
Amassed, Desk Gym benefits can help reduce companies’ healthcare costs and improve workforce productivity and efficiency.
The Purpose of Desk Gym
Desk Gym was designed and created for three core reasons; health and fitness, advertising, and office functionality.
It has numerous health benefits that appeal to global health and fitness demands. Desk Gym will be customizable for companies to advertise their logo for distribution to vendors, employees and customers. The sleek and practical design allows you to place the product on virtually any desk and gain organization without losing valuable workspace.
What is Desk Gym?
Desk Gym is composed of three equipment items, a stress ball, Zen Bell and hand resistance bands. The items are held on a stand that is designed in a manner in which the user would not lose any valuable desk space. Office supplies including pens, pencils, clips, and media devices fit neatly within a Desk Gym.
- The Stress Ball – Increases blood flow and strengthens the hand and wrist, forearm, bicep, and triceps. Attaining grip strength is key to controlling heavier weight when performing any type of physical activity. In addition to strength training, squeezing the stress ball comes in “handy” on tough workdays.
- The Zen Bell – Perform non-impact exercises by placing the Zen Bell between arm and leg joints. Work your core, legs, and arms using Desk Gym’s recommended exercises provided, or use your own creativity to personalize your workout. In some cases, you will use the stress ball in conjunction with the Zen Bell to create fun and challenging office space exercises.
- The Hand Bands – These bands are ideal for individuals who type, write or use their hands for extended periods of time. Exercising the wrist, arms and legs with the resistance hand bands allow the user to stretch and strengthen the body to reduce the risk of work related injuries. Arthritis and Carpal Tunnel therapy routines may sooth and reduce the risk of further injury.
Advertising Potential
Stress balls have long been a great tool for companies to market and promote their business to potential customers.
Desk Gym is designed to give companies an alternative way of advertising. It can be manufactured to display company information such as a website and phone number or logo. Customization is printed on both the Desk Gym stand and the stress ball. We are taking the stress ball advertisement to the extreme. Customizable units will only be available for minimum order amounts yet to be determined.

Desk Gym exercises provide numerous ways to improve your well being in an office setting. An active work environment boosts energy naturally, reducing the need for caffeine enriched drinks and energy supplements.
