The problem we solve: Health Linkages' goal is to enable analytics across different data systems in healthcare and life sciences. There exists a treasure trove of information throughout healthcare. Unfortunately, most of this information is either inaccessible or unusable. The data is not is the same format, there are no ways to control who sees each individual data point and no easy way to track the history of the data points. In other words, the data is not useful for data analytics.
About our solution: Health Linkages provides an easily-installable software system for collecting and analyzing health data, enabling organizations to save over 90% of analytics time and headcount while allowing better analytics and regulatory compliance. The system allows healthcare institutions to quickly and accurately get metrics for value-based care leading to faster reimbursements with higher positive payment adjustments. Health Linkages provides open source analytics and AI solutions and can easily provide data to other algorithms via open APIs.
Progress to date:We have built a prototype and have been building out a market-ready product based on our interactions with pilot customers. Our system is a combination of big data technologies with a blockchain-enabled persistence layer, allowing us full data provenance. Our system allows sharing of data (either within or between institutions) for aggregate analysis without revealing the input data to the other parties.
We are nearing a go-live with a patient organization. We are also in discussions with pharmaceutical companies and provider organizations.

The data is not is the same format, there are no ways to control who sees each individual data point and no easy way to track the history of the data points. We enable hospitals to quickly and easily analyze their data in a fraction of the time it currently takes with a fraction of the FTEs, thus saving short-term revenue.

In other words, the data is not useful for data analytics. We enable institutions to quickly and easily analyze their data in a fraction of the time it currently takes with a fraction of the FTEs, thus saving short-term revenue.
We are looking for partners in:
1) Healthcare providers (including academic medical centers)
2) Pharmaceutical companies and biopharma companies
3) Healthcare payers
4) Patient organizations
Market Size
Our total addressable market (TAM) is currently $2.8B based on a fraction of the total healthcare IT market (Markets and Markets Healthcare IT Report). Every healthcare provider needs a solution to be able to quickly and accurately calculate metrics for MACRA (either MIPS or APM). Analytics in healthcare are becoming more and more important and are being required for reimbursement by both public and private payers. Additionally, these analytics give healthcare institutions the opportunity to save short-term revenue by being high performers in MACRA as well as determining cost savings. Our system will provide metrics in less that 10% of the time it currently takes huge teams of data analysts and will also save by re-focusing these analysts to analyzing data rather then preparing data to be analyzed.
Projected 3 Year Growth
Our goal is to achieve revenues of $5M by the end of 2019 and $30M by 2021. This should allow us to reach an inflection point in 2019 and get our next round of funding. We plan to focus on the US and Europe (due to current interest in big data analytics with GDPR compliance) in this time frame.
How We Will Make Money
Our planned revenue streams are based on enterprise sales for healthcare providers, payers and pharma/biopharma companies. We charge a license for our platform (usually on-premises but also available on the cloud) as well as for professional services helping with the data.
About our Competition
Health Linkages is competing against solutions developed in-house by organizations as well as data warehouse companies. Our solution is currently unique in that we are using cryptographic methods to connect granular data and make connections between the data. We are currently the only company on the market that can enable institutions to share data for analytics (either internally or externally) while maintaining the privacy of their data. Our system also leverages open APIs to allow use of external apps or algorithms to analyze data (or use AI/ML methods).
Progress with Customers to date
We are currently nearing a go-live with a patient organization focused on private (cryptographically anonymous) sharing of data with therapeutics companies and healthcare providers. We have garnered significant interest from pharmaceutical companies in Europe (as we are GDPR compliant) and have been working with academic medical centers in the US to provide data governance and analytics infrastructure.
New Orleans and Our Company
We are exited to work with the New Orleans community to help create health IT hub where insights from data will drive down the cost of healthcare and provide better care to patient populations. We would be proud to partner with healthcare organizations in the New Orleans area (such as Lafayette General) to advance these goals and this would be one of the company's greatest priorities.
Intellectual Property Summary
Our IP is in the cryptographic methods used to enable our technology. None of that has been revealed in this application. We have retained an IP law firm and are in the process of doing due diligence on applying for two patents.
Clinical Information
Clinical efficacy is not applicable here as we have a data analytics solution for enterprise healthcare organizations. We comply with the FDA's new digital health rules as described in the 21st Century Cures Act.
Regulatory Status
We are following the FDA's new digital health rules as described in the 21st Century Cures Act. Our platform is currently compliant with the HIPAA Privacy and Security rules, GDPR (for the EU) and the FTC Act.
How we will use the funds raised
We will use the funding to expand our development team to be able to engage new customers in our sales pipeline. We will use this as seed funding to enable us to get to a revenue basis which will set us up for Series A financing. Along this path, we will also hire full-time sales and marketing personnel to grow our sales funnel to set us up for Series A.
Thank You
We truly believe the future of healthcare is based on data analytics. Our customers and prospects have told us that they believe all the information necessary to treat or cure any disease state already exists...the information just isn't connected. Our goal is to solve this problem and enable enterprises to use this information within their own walls and share this information with other organizations while maintaining compliance with government regulations and protecting their data assets. Our system, which combines blockchain technology with big data analytics accomplishes this task while maintaining full privacy, security, data provenance and data governance over the data.
