referralMD is a user-friendly platform that allows you to exchange, manage and track referral information and images online with your colleagues without using paper, fax machines, shredders, or excessive staff. By increasing referral efficiency, your practice can maximize its profits, increase patient satisfaction, and the quality of care provided.
Do other organizations need to be enrolled to be able to exchange referrals?
Just with any technology, even the FAX, both sides need to have the same technology to communicate. Every organization will have their own secure account to send and receive referrals with the ability to connect to an unlimited number of other practitioners. Easily invite or send a referral to other clinicians and they will receive an invitation for a Free Account.

Clinical Proof
Improving Referral Communication Using a Referral Tool
A recent study of a home-grown solution similar to ours found that when PCPs used an electronic referral tool (ERT):
- The chances that information would be communicated to specialists prior to the patient’s referral visit were 3x as high as when PCPs did not use the ERT.
- When the ERT was used, intervention patients were significantly more likely to report that specialists had received pertinent information prior to their visit and significantly less likely to have received conflicting information.
*There was also a trend towards intervention PCPs being more likely than control PCPs to receive information back from the specialists.
These three findings strongly suggest that communication between PCPs and specialists are improved when ERTs are used.

How We Will Spend Your Contributions
The initial 40k from you and our other supporters will help us bring on board one additional programmer for 4 months and will provide some much needed working capital for our launch into a private pilot test in which we already have over 100 eager organizations waiting to participate including: Concentra, MD Anderson Cancer Center, St. Joseph’s Healthcare, St. Vincent’s Hospitals, and many other individual dentists, doctors, imaging centers, and laboratories.
