The Internet is full of great videos on health policy, but finding them amongst a sea of cable news clips and television soundbites is a chore.
HealthPolicyTV curates the web’s best videos, so that you can spend less time hunting for things to watch, and more time watching them.
HealthPolicyTV hand-picks the most interesting and most important videos from leading researchers, practitioners, analysts, and advocates, and brings them together in one place for you to enjoy. We select long-form videos that present real research and new ideas, and that examine serious topics in depth. Viewers like you can also suggest videos for us to add.
On HealthPolicyTV, you’ll also encounter ideas from across the entire spectrum of opinion. This is because if you want to be informed, you need to know what all sides of the debate are saying. HealthPolicyTV selects videos for quality, importance, and influence. We do not offer our own editorial view. (Do we have personal opinions? Of course we do. But there are plenty of other outlets for that sort of engagement. HealthPolicyTV foremost is for lifting the quality of health policy discussion, not pushing it in any particular direction.)
A working prototype of the HealthPolicyTV website is up and running at http://HealthPolicy.tv. It’s already stocked with dozens of great videos. Go check it out. We hope you’ll appreciate that it is very content-focused, clean, and uncluttered.
To take HealthPolicyTV to the next level, we need your help. Specifically, we’re raising funds to finish building out the website, to optimize it for performance and for the search engines, and to spread the word to as many people as possible. The more user feedback we get in the form of the individual video ratings, plus the more user-submitted video suggestions we receive, the more useful our resource will become to you, our viewers.
In the next round of growth, we want to take HealthPolicyTV beyond just content curation. We will use the money to purchase better audio and video recording equipment, and attend events such as seminars, grand rounds and conferences to capture original video content (with permission, of course). By doing that, we can bring new videos to you that otherwise would not have even been available.
