Hi,
My name is Dr. Richard Park and I am a Cardiologist. In my work I used to often find myself needing a way to get the exact size of the blood vessels I was looking at. This is important because to make the best recommendations or give the best treatments for my patients, I need to have the most accurate information and a millimeter, in my world can make a huge difference, often between life and death if we guess wrong. This is one of the many ways that medicine is still too often more of an art than a science. But I realized, at least in one way, it didn’t need to be that way anymore. I created the VesselSizer as an accurate and simple way to solve this problem. We use VesselSizers every day in our practice and think it will help Doctors and Patients everywhere. I appreciate the support of the MidWest AHA in selecting our project as a finalist and helping us bring this idea our to Doctors and Patients everywhere. Thank you for your interest and hopefully for your support in spreading the word or adopting VesselSizers for your practice.
A special message for cardiology Patients: I think I speak for most Cardiologists when I say that if you tell your doctor about this new idea she or he will be appreciative. This campaign is only open for a few weeks so call today or share the idea and website at your next visit. Tweeting and posting this project on social media is great too! One of the reasons healthcare is so expensive is because the cost of getting new ideas like this into practice is exorbitant and that cost gets passed on to the employers, health plans, and ultimately patients. Help us fix that for this simple new idea and we promise to keep prices for VesselSizer reasonable like those at the right.
Clinical Proof to date:
VesselSizer is undergoing beta testing. It will be ready for commercialization soon. The response has been very enthusiastic from all subspecialties: Interventional Radiologists, Interventional Cardiologists and Vascular Surgeons.
FDA Status:
Patent is pending. Follows FDA regulations. Class I Exempt.
How VesselSizer can help reduce cardiovascular disease by 20% by 2020
Angiography and intervention is often the final therapy in vascular disease. This procedure is done hundreds of times every day, every city, every state, day and night, electively and emergently often as a prevantive measure. Any device that impacts this process and outcome of intervention will have huge impacts in patient outcomes. VesselSizer is an important, safe, and effective new clinical tool that will improve this valuable treatment.

Richard B. Park, M.D., F.A.C.C., Chief Medical Officer – Dr. Park is board certified in Cardiology and Internal Medicine with 19 years of practice in Interventional Cardiology. He is an inventor of several patents that benefit the healthcare community.
