The problem we solve
Healthcare data breaches in the US cost organizations a total of $6.78B in 2014. Cyber Criminal attacks have been up by 125% since 2010 and 45% of healthcare organizations say that data breaches were due to criminal activity.

Our Solution
XAHIVE is a cybersecurity company that provides two services: a secure communication service that allows professionals to securely transmit messages and documents to each other, and a privacy legislation compliance auditing service. In order to effectively connect with US healthcare providers with our secure communication service, we need to upgrade all of our apps, servers and software to be HL7 compliant so that we can interact with healthcare records in a way that is conducive to rapid deployment of XAHIVE technology into healthcare facilities.
Why we Care
Both of the founders of XAHIVE have been affected personally by health information data breaches at a local hospital. The hospital process for transmitting secure patient information was to use, and subsequently lose a USB stick containing 25K health records because they did not have a more convenient, secure or scalable option to transmit a large data file from one office to another. This left us extremely vulnerable and we felt violated as our personal information is out there for anyone to access. We did not want this to happen to other patients, and that is why we created Xahive.
How XAHIVE works
XAHIVE allows you to send messages and documents directly from one user to another without any servers knowing anything about them. We use an encryption protocol that works exactly like PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), which is the standard for secure communication used by news reporters that require secure communication because the parties participating in the communication are risking their safety and or livelihoods in order to communicate.
XAHIVE enables you to have user groups (HIVES) that still operate with control in the hands of the administrator using our implementation of PGP so that you can audit the communication of your users without needing expensive servers and infrastructure to support the information sharing ecosystem.

With HL7 compliant XAHIVE technology, healthcare professionals will be able to use our services in a way that enables their mobile device policies and governance principles outlined by HIMSS.
Also, XAHIVE also allows professionals to reduce their cybersecurity insurance premiums by up to 15% or more.

This is simple; the patients will benefit by being discharged sooner, having medical staff see them sooner and experience less wait times due to the decreased population of patients at the medical facility they are visiting or admitted to.
How we help 3rd party developers
3rd party developers that have standing offers, existing supply and service arrangements or even prospective development shops looking to offer a new service will be able to benefit from our technology and not have to worry about dealing with HL7 compliance as we will be able to give it to them as part of our application programming interface (API) and software development toolkit (SDK) that we provide to 3rd party developers.
Expenses covered by this campaign:
We need to cover the cost of the team that will be working on the HL7 compliance. All of the money will be allocated on the analysis, development, testing and release of the apps and server technology required to bring XAHIVE up to HL7 compliance.
